Evg. Ravi Murmu, Jamalpur, Bihar
 
Evg. Ravi Murmu is murdered in  Jamalpur, Bihar on the night of 02 MAY 2010 - Funeral held on 03 MAY 2010.
He was returning  after Jesus film show in  Lakshmanpur. The reason for his  killing is still unknown.  Funeral was held on 03 MAY 2010 at the local Assembly.
 
Let us  continue to uphold the grieving family members to the Throne of Grace.  Especially please pray for his  wife Sister Rinku and 8 year old daughter. May the Lord bestow upon them Heavenly Grace, Peace, Strength and console them with the Word of God. His brother  Evg. Shaliendra Murmu is serving the Lord in Sahibganj, Bihar. Evg. Ravi Murmu, was an young energetic Lord’s Servant, commended by the Bethel Assembly in Jamalpur, Bihar.  Evg. Ravi Murmu and a team of brethren  were  showing the Jesus film  at  Lakshmanpur. His other team members left the venue before him  and he was the last person to leave the place.  Since  he did not reach home late night, a search was initiated for him and  his body was found.  He suffered cuts and deep wounds in his neck, hand  and other parts of his body.  Since  the murderers did not take any of his personal belongings (motor bike, cell phone, watch,  Bible etc.), it seems robbery was not their motive. The reason for his  killing is  still unknown.  Police investigations are going on.

Thanks for the prayers.  Our two brothers (Evg. Rajendra Das & Br. Renjith) who were in police custody were released last night. The police investigation is still going on and the reason for murder is still unknown. The primary reports say that enmity might be a reason. I request the saints all over the world to pray for the Assembly  and our Evangelists in that area who are facing  questions from investigating team. Br. R. K. Singh, one of the elders of the Jamalpur Assembly is also facing a lot of queries from the police. 
 
According to the present situation in Bihar, it is difficult to believe that, the murder was an attack on the ministry. Please pray that, the police may do the right investigation in the proper direction and find out the truth.
 
B.    Accident
 
01    Update on Brethren involved in Accident in Chengannur, Kerala
We have been praying for the  Brethren, who were involved in a serious road accident on 26  APR 2010 near Chengannur, Kerala. The accident happened when a private bus rammed on their TATA Sumo from the opposite direction. 
a) Sheba P Raju, D/o P G Raju, Evangelist, Sikar-Rajasthan
Sheba is in a very critical condition. She suffered serious head injury and was in ICU and on ventilator. Currently she is shifted to Indo-American Hospital, Vaikom for better medical care. Let us  continue to uphold our dear Sheba  to the Throne of Grace for heavenly intervention and complete recovery.

b)    George Thomas, Sikar, Rajasthan
Br. George Thomas suffered multiple fractures and crush injuries with on his right hand. He underwent major surgeries  for the crush injuries at Pushpagiri Hospital. He is now shifted to KIMS, Trivandrum for better medical care.  Let us  continue to uphold our  dear brother to the Throne of Grace for heavenly intervention and complete recovery.

01    Br. Liju Philip, Bethel Christian Assembly, Santa Cruz,  Mumbai, India
Br. Liju Philip (38 Years) is diagnosed with stage 2 kidney cancer and was  admitted  in Raheja Hospital, Mumbai. The tumor has en-capsuled one entire kidney and half of another. The doctors were saying surgery is the only option. They plan for removing one kidney and half of the other. The Nephrologist is almost certain it is malignant. A surgery was scheduled for 09 APR 2010, but due to sudden increase in his  BP, the surgery was put on hold.: Update: Thank you all for faithfully praying for Liju Philip in Mumbai.  He is admitted in the Raheja Hospital, Mumbai on 03 MAY 2010. His surgery  that was re-scheduled for 04 MAY 2010  but it had to be postponed for the second time due to high Blood  Pressure.  God willing, the surgery is  now scheduled for Thursday, 06 MAY 2010.

04    Sister Molly M. Paul, W/o Evg. Madan Paul  Ludhiana, Punjab - India
Sister Molly Paul is suffering from breast cancer. The cancer has spread to her lungs and distant nodes. Siter Molly Paul  underwent first Chemotherapy on 19 JAN 2010. Immediately after the first chemotherapy, some side effects /reactions have appeared. Sister Molly Paul was again hospitalized  with adverse reaction to the chemotherapy. The blood TLC  count  has gone down to a dangerous level.  Sister Molly is having Nausea, headache,  and restlessness.
Update:  Br. Madan Paul writes:   We are thankful to God for the prayers of God's people. Although by the grace of God my wife Molly Paul is feeling bit better but still due to the weakness, nausea, swelling, and the chemo pain she has been advised complete rest. After the ORAL treatment for 3 months, further evaluation will be done in July 2010.
 
On 29th April 2010, Molly was given the farewell by her department at the C.M.C hospital Ludhiana India. As a family we are thankful to God for all HIS blessings and praise and worship HIM for HIS goodness, mercy and for HIS faithfulness all the days of our life. Psalm 23:6.
 
It is good to be reminded that as strangers we are passing by this world and soon we will be in our heavenly home when GOD shall call us home at HIS time. What a hope we have in Christ. John 14:1-3. We are searching for a house. Soon we will be moving to a new location in the Ludhiana city and keep you informed. Kindly continue to remember us in your prayer. The just shall live by faith.

Br. P. M. George Kutty suffered Chest Pain and was admitted at the  Baptist Hospital in Bangalore  on 23 APR 2010. An Angiogram  was done and it shows multiple blocks. The  Cardiologist advised  for a bye-pass surgery.  God willing,  Br. 06    Sister Lissy Varghese, W/o Evg. Varghese Mathew, Uzhvoor, Kottayam , Kerala
Sister Lissy Varghese is suffering from a critical Thyroid Gland cancer.  The cancer has spread between the nerves.  Sister Lissy  underwent an operation on 27th January 2010 at TMM Hospital, Thiruvalla. For further investigation and treatment she has been admitted at CMC Vellore on March 7th.  CMC advised for Radio Therapy. But they can’t do it at CMC till November 2010.  So the family has decided to do the  Radio Therapy at GKNM Hospital at Coimbatore on 5th May.  Please pray for the speedy recovery and financial needs.

07    Master Alwin Simon Mathew S/o Br. Simon Mathew(Shaji -Puthupally), Majlis Brethren Assembly, Bahrain

Alwin Simon Mathew [(8 Years of Age) has a Brain Tumor. He underwent an urgent surgery on 10 DEC 09 and  placed a tube to drain the excess fluid in the brain. Alwin is then flown to Trivandrum  and underwent a major surgery on 17 DEC 09 at Sree Chitra Thirunal (SCT) Hospital, Trivandrum. Alwin is then  transferred to Regional Cancer Centre, Trivandrum, where he  underwent  25 sessions of  Radiation treatment. Now he needs to undergo 6 Chemo  sessions.  But his blood count is very low. Let us continue to uphold our beloved child  to the throne of Grace for heavenly intervention, Grace and complete healing.
 
08    Santhosham, Nellikkunnu, Thrissur, Kerala, India     
Santhosham (10 year old girl)  Rehoboth Orphanage, Nellikkunnu, Thrissur  is admitted at Amala Cancer Hospital Thrissur due to Bone cancer. Two weeks before  she felt  slight  pain in her knee joint.,  applied local pain balm. But  on further investigations (X-ray and other tests)  at Jubilee Mission Hospital revealed that she is suffering from Bone cancer.

09     Sister Jessy George Thomas, W/o Br. George Thomas,  Bangalore - India
We have been praying for Sister Jessy George Thomas (Approx. 45 Years) , who was  suffering  Kidney Problems.  She was also having other problems like BP blood sugar etc.   By the Grace of God,  Sister Jessy underwent a  Kidney Transplant   in  JUN 07 at Medical Trust  Hospital Ernakulam. She was keeping fine.  Recently her condition deteriorated and was on and off  from the hospital. She developed  swelling in her body.   She is recently affected by chicken pox and her kidney failed and undergoing dialysis.  Currently she is admitted  in  Manipal Hospital, Bangalore. Her condition is deteriorated and bedridden. Let us uphold  this dear  sister to the Throne of Grace for  Heavenly intervention, Grace  and  complete  recovery. Her husband Br. d)    Titus R (Kovilkadavu) met with a bike accident while on his way from Munnar to Marayoor while on a ministry trip. On a sandy patch of the road, he lost balance & the bike skidded & fell. e)    Kamla Devi (Guntur) successfully underwent a gall bladder surgery. She is 70 years. 152 stones were removed during the surgery. She is in ICU now. f)    Evg. Jayan Cherussery who was injured in a bike accident in October 2009 still has neurological pains. He has sever pains in right hand arm to palm and on the left palm. He is still not able to move out. In October 2009, while coming to Attapady, the bike skid in a turning and fell. The MRI scan of his spinal cord reveals that the spinal cord is compressed in the neck region due to the accident. 13    Brethren Bible Institute
Thanks for the co-operation, prayers, contributions and encouragements received from prayer partners. We have covered 21 years in the field of teaching Bible and theology to the dedicated young believers of different states of India. Most of them are now in different areas to witness for the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ. It is encouraging to know that more than 35 new assemblies have been established in different linguistic areas of India by our graduates.
 
After the vacation, the BBI has started functioning on the first of May 2010 in the new campus at Pariyaram. This year 13 news students have been admitted for the course. The total strength now is 40. Some more students may also be admitted as many are seeking admissions, even though late. 

 
God willing, a short term extension studies also is under consideration during the period July-August, 2010.
   
For the successful continuation of the courses, prayerful contributions from assemblies and believers are necessary.
 
Present Need
A Computer Lab has become indispensable. We have already received an ear marked gift of Rs. 50,000 for this purpose.   Rs. 50,000 more is required. Prayers of the saints coveted. All gifts to be sent in favour of  BRETHREN BIBLE INSTITUTE, PATHANAMTHITTA.
